Last week I mentioned that I was in the Winter Tabletop Challenge for Floridian Weddings. Today they are going to post my look and I wanted to share the fun DIY that goes along with it. I wanted to create a favor that wouldn’t clutter up my table setting - I have a lot going on as it is - so I came up with the idea to make a place card favor. Now each guest can take home something that is personalized just for them!
What you’ll need:
5” x 7” canvas
Assorted acrylic paints and paint brush
Small gold bells
Step 1: Choose your first color and paint a large stroke the length of the canvas. I set mine up like a mini assembly line and painted a yellow stroke in a different spot on each canvas.
Step 2: Repeat step 1 until all your chosen colors have been used. Finish painting your strokes and let dry.
Step 3: Print out a 4.5” x 6.5” card with the names of the bride and groom and the date. Glue this to the back of the canvas.
Step 4: Cut out a heart from the craft paper and write your guests name on it. Make a hole in one of the corners of the heart with a hole punch. Cut twine to desired length and wrap around canvas. Attach heart and bell to twine and tie twine in the back so it doesn’t show.
That’s it! So cute, right?! I chose to place them on the plates, but it would also be cute to have them propped on mini easels. Hope this little DIY inspired you to be crafty with your place cards and favors! And don’t forget to check out all the tabletops over at Floridian Weddings and check there site later today for mine! They’ve already posted Sarah’s from Chevrons and Stripes and Rebecca’s from Urban Flip Flops - they are both so pretty!
p.s. I think Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere and I were on the same page with the twine and bell. She just posted this today!
